The last of the autumn colours around Haigh Hall Plantations

I decided to take a few afternoon walks around Haigh Hall Plantations to try and catch the last of the autumn colours before the weather changed. Unfortunately the weather was overcast every time I went down but I was still able to capture those amazing late autumn colours.

There is always an abundance of beautiful shots along the footpaths so I decided on a mix of my 24-70mm f2.8 and my 105mm f2.8 Macro lens for some close up shots. I enjoy the challenge of picking a specific lens or focal distance for a particular visit to my local areas as I feel it challenges you to look beyond those few shots you would take over and over.

At the end of my second visit of the week, just as I was getting into my car, I was treated to an amazing early evening low sun casting some nice rays through the clouds and into the woodlands. I couldn’t leave without getting my camera back out for a few last shots.

After a few weeks of miserable weather I couldn’t resist a quick flight of my drone for some aerial shots of Haigh Hall.
