Southport is one of my closest costal spots so where better to head out and try my new (to me) drone. The weather this evening was glorious and the beach was amazing after a rare high tide brought the sea all the way to the shoreline leaving pools of water everywhere. With the sun setting in front of me this created some stunning silhouettes from Southport Pier during golden hour.
I then decided to head off further out along the beach to hopefully get my drone up for a different perspective of the coastline, hoping for some good sunset photos. The weather did not disappoint and I was presented with some great colours as the sun disappeared over the horizon. With my drone flying at its maximum distance (just under 500m away) I was able to get some amazing views of the tide retreating back into the Irish Sea as the sun went down. Happy with my trip I headed back to the seafront for a quick visit to the pub before heading home but just as I thought I was done I was presented with an view of Southport Pier in the late evening light that was remaining.
